SWEET POTATO CUTLET/TIKKI/PATTIES

SWEET POTATO cutlet

Cutlet/Tikki is one among the family’s favorites. So i keep trying various varieties with it.A perfect snack for your little one who is fussy about having vegetables.

 

Ingredients:

  • Sweet potato -2
  • Potato-2
  • Peas- 1 cup
  • Chopped onion-1/2 cup
  • Chopped tomato-1/2 cup
  • Turmeric Powder-A pinch
  • Chilly Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Cumin Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala-1/4 tsp
  • Salt-To taste
  • Bread crumbs/Rusk powder-As required
  • Corn flour-1 tbsp

Procedure:

1.Pressure cook sweet potato,potato and peas.

2.Let them cool and mash it together.

3.In a pan add some ghee/oil and saute onion and tomato.

4.Add masala powders and salt.

5.Cool the mixture and add to the potato mash.

6.If you are unable to form balls add some corn flour.

 

 

7. Gather the mass into small balls and flatten like tikki or use a mould.

8.Dip this in corn flour mixture and coat this with bread crumbs.

9.Shallow fry them in a dosa pan with ghee.

10.Serve it hot

P.S

This can be given to babies above 7 months after having introduced each vegetable separately

Always have a word with your doctor before introducing any new food

Adjust spices as per your taste

Avoid salt for babies less than 1 year.

You can add rice flour instead of corn flour to bind the batter.

You can use bread crumbs instead of rusk powder.
